Before you switch
Do I need an internet connection?
No. Painting, developing, drawing, cutting and layout all run on your machine. You need a connection to download the app — after that, the desks keep working offline.
What are the six desks?
HOARD is the local library. BLECK paints raster layers and cuts subjects out. GLEAM develops RAW. CHART draws logos, icons and SVGs. FRAME trims and exports clips. SWELL scales brand layouts for social and web. Five-letter names, one suite.
Is this the same as Quires?
No. SWARFE is the design studio. QUIRES is the productivity suite — documents, sheets, decks and PRESS for PDFs. YAFFLE is local AI management. Same local-first idea, three products. SWARFE can hand a finished page to PRESS when you need a PDF.
Do I need a card to join the waitlist?
No. An email address is enough. Nothing is charged and no card is collected. When SWARFE launches, the list hears first — with the trial and pricing described here.
When does it launch?
We do not have a fixed date to announce yet. The waitlist is how we tell people the moment that changes, and joining now locks introductory pricing before it rises at launch.
Where did PDFs go?
PRESS lives in Quires. Merge, annotate and lock PDFs there. SWARFE can hand a finished page across — we are not building a second PDF desk here.
Is my work actually private?
By architecture, not just by policy. Projects, caches and exports live on your disk. There is no required cloud account. Subject cutout and develop run on-device.
